About the East Kootenay

The East Kootenay is an area rich in resources, recreation, and community. The geography is diverse: from captivating mountain peaks to arid desert climates. Outdoor life is key to people who choose to live in the East Kootenay. There is plenty of hiking, hunting, mountain biking in the area, as well as more formal pursuits like golfing and skiing. There are literally dozens of golf courses in the East Kootenay from Invermere to Fernie, and at least 20 ski resorts within a three hour driving radius.
